ABC Broadband/SQUTI Certification 4/21/2025 - 12/31/2026

The ABC SQUTI program, designed to meet the requirements of Minnesota statute § 326B.198, is a comprehensive 40-hour training course that combines online learning with hands-on experience. Developed by industry experts, the curriculum covers seven essential modules: Utility Locates Regulations, Identification and Verification of Utility Lines, Safety Guidelines for Trenching and Excavating, Safety Guidelines for Directional Drill Equipment, Response to Utility Strike Incidents, Traffic Control Procedures, and Avoidance and Mitigation of Safety Hazards. Each module is meticulously crafted to provide participants with the knowledge and skills needed to work safely and effectively in the field.

Registration through this link covers access to the SQUTI classroom content in the NCCER Learning Management System. The completion of the course content in the LMS meets the requirement for the classroom training portion of the ABC SQUTI program. Each trainee must also complete the required 14-hours of hands-on training. Hands-on training documentation must be submitted by an approved, certified SQUTI instructor. ABC must be notified prior to the hands-on training taking place or else training documentation will not be approved. NCCER Virtual Certification - 2026 1/1/2026 - 12/31/2026

In these courses, you will learn the history of NCCER and how the curriculum was developed, become certified to train, evaluate, or proctor in the craft(s) that you have significant level of experience (i.e. journey-level of experience or greater, 4+ years), ensure that you are using the proper evaluation techniques for your training program and improve upon the ones currently in place, learn the skills needed to successfully manage a training program before, during and after the class, determine what makes a good communicator, a good leader and how to incorporate those qualities into your classroom. Note: Proctor certification does not require 4+ years of experience in the trade/craft for which you will proctor exams.

Depending on which certification you will be earning, these courses may consist of as many as two live-online six-hour sessions, one live-online three-hour session, and four self-guided modules. Confined Space Competent Person

This course provides experienced workers and leaders with the knowledge and leadership skills necessary to serve as a competent person for confined space operations. Training covers OSHA requirements, hazard recognition, atmospheric monitoring, ventilation methods, entry permits, and emergency procedures. Participants will also learn how to oversee confined space entries, enforce safety procedures, and ensure compliance. Upon completion. Successful completion of this course provides the training component needed for the competent person role; however, the employer is ultimately responsible for designating and deeming an individual as a competent person based on their qualifications and job responsibilities. Upon completion, they will be prepared to fulfill the role of a confined space competent person within their organization. This course is eligible for .2 IACET CEUs through U.S. Compliance, an IACET Accredited Provider.

April 2, 2026 from 12-4pm

ABC members and guests are invited to attend the North Dakota ABC Fun Golf event at Suite Shots in Fargo ND from 12-4pm. This is our fourth annual in Fargo and will be just like our Minnesota event that was a huge success in the past years. We look forward to seeing you there. We'll talk golf and work on our game before the courses open.We will have 8 bays for golf, food and drinks! Take a break from the office or jobsite and join us for a day of golf and networking. ABC Greater Houston member Structure Tone Southwest invites you to learn more about an upcoming ground-up, 15,000 SF PEMB New Consolidated Control Room project at the Marathon facility in Mandan, ND.

The scope of work includes civil work, PEMB structure, CMU block, interior finishes, glass and glazing, raised access flooring, control room consoles, millwork, lockers, breakroom appliances, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection and alarm systems, FM-200 suppression system, audio visual (AV), security (access control), office furniture, and exterior site work.

Vendors and contractors are invited to attend this open house to discuss the scope and details of the project.
