NCCER Virtual Certification - 2025 1/1/2025 - 12/31/2025

In these courses, you will learn the history of NCCER and how the curriculum was developed, become certified to train, evaluate, or proctor in the craft(s) that you have significant level of experience (i.e. journey-level of experience or greater, 4+ years), ensure that you are using the proper evaluation techniques for your training program and improve upon the ones currently in place, learn the skills needed to successfully manage a training program before, during and after the class, determine what makes a good communicator, a good leader and how to incorporate those qualities into your classroom. Note: Proctor certification does not require 4+ years of experience in the trade/craft for which you will proctor exams.

Depending on which certification you will be earning, these courses may consist of as many as two live-online six-hour sessions, one live-online three-hour session, and four self-guided modules. Join us for our Meet The General event in St. Joseph on March 6th. These events are strategically located, structured networking events that allow general contractors to prequalify subcontractors, meet specialty contractors and for subcontractors to meet and get on general contractors preferred bid lists. Each event typically hosts 70 people with 8-12 general contractors in attendance.

MN state law requires that at least one laborer in an “active” building sewer or water worksite must have a pipelayers card. In this class, you will learn about the certification origin/the decree, review MN state plumbing code pertaining to site/Off - R.O.W./Yard piping projects, pipe laying procedures, code terminology, materials needed, inspection/testing procedures. The certification is valid for three years.

The presenter will be Blayne Vonasek from RJ Zavoral & Sons, Inc

Attendees who register by 2/28/2025 will receive their pipelayer cards at the end of the class session upon successfully passing the exam. Those registered after 2/28/2025 will receive their cards in the mail following the class. All attendees can receive a digital copy of their card via email by contacting ABC's Education Director: tom.kennedy@mnabc.com

All cancellation must be made in writing 72 hours prior to the start date and are subject to a processing fee. No refunds will be given if cancellations are made after the deadline. Most events and programs have space limitations and reservations are taken on first come, first serve basis. It is important to reserve early for an event or program that you wish to attend. ABC reserves the right to cancel the class for any reason and will do so at least 48 hours before the beginning of the course. This session will be postponed and/or cancelled if the class minimum is not met.

The 2025 Legislative Session has begun and our legislators need to hear from you! Join us for our annual ABC Legislative Day at the Capitol on March 12th to meet with your legislators and fellow contractors to share how legislation being debated in St. Paul will have a dramatic impact on your businesses, employees, and your community and state.

8:00 a.m. - ABC will kick off the day at the capitol with opening remarks and an update on the legislative session so far at the Radisson Hotel St. Paul Downtown. Breakfast and refreshments will be provided.
8:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. - Meetings with your local senator and representative. This is your chance to meet one on one with your legislators, tell them about your company and current projects, and explain how legislation in St. Paul directly affects the merit shop construction industry! ABC staff will schedule the meetings for you and provide you with details on when and where the meetings will take place - either at the State Capitol, Minnesota Senate Office Building, or Centennial Office Building.
11:45 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. - We return to the Radisson Hotel St. Paul Downtown for lunch and a Q&A with key lawmakers from the House and Senate.

If you have attended our Day at the Capitol in the past, sign up again and encourage a co-worker or family member to join us as well. For those who have not attended in the past, this is a great way to talk with your elected representatives and be a part of ABC's grassroots legislative advocacy efforts!

March Madness at Top Golf

March 27th from 12-4pm

ABC members and guests are invited to attend the ABC March Madness event at Top Golf in Brooklyn Center from 12-4pm. Of course we will TVs with the Sweet 16, but will also have 17 bays for golf, food and drinks! Take a break from the office or jobsite and join us for a day of golf and networking.
