Tailgate Tuesday Sponsorship

We are in the process of scheduling 10 general contractor job sites in Minnesota and 3 in North Dakota to make and serve lunch for all of the employees on site, and give all of the field employees a 15-minute safety talk on a topic chosen by the hosting contractor. Members of the ABC BD Committees and Safety Committee make and serve lunch on site using the ABC safety trailer and our traveling grill.

The sponsorship is $500 and includes all the TGTs, display table during lunch; time to interact with employees; welcome to help with prep and serving; logo on banner; recognition in newsletter, marketing materials, and website safety page. Companies are welcome to do giveaways and display company promotional materials.

NCCER Virtual Certification - 06/2024 6/1/2024 - 6/30/2024

In these courses, you will learn the history of NCCER and how the curriculum was developed, become certified to train, evaluate, or proctor in the craft(s) that you have significant level of experience (i.e. journey-level of experience or greater, 4+ years), ensure that you are using the proper evaluation techniques for your training program and improve upon the ones currently in place, learn the skills needed to successfully manage a training program before, during and after the class, determine what makes a good communicator, a good leader and how to incorporate those qualities into your classroom. Note: Proctor certification does not require 4+ years of experience in the trade/craft for which you will proctor exams.

Depending on which certification you will be earning, these courses may consist of as many as two live-online six-hour sessions, one live-online three-hour session, and four self-guided modules. Join ABC and our chapter counsel Tom Revnew of Littler for a recap of the 2024 Minnesota Legislative Session. With a DFL trifecta at the capitol, the merit shop construction industry was in the crosshairs. This event will discuss new laws dealing with:

independent contractor misclassification
prevailing wage expansion
modifications to earned sick and safe time requirements
new requirements for broadband installers
other labor & employment mandates, and more.

We will answer questions and share with you how to best navigate the new and upcoming changes affecting the merit shop construction industry. This event is an in-person event with the opportunity to participate remotely if desired. Lunch is included for those who register for the in-person option. Plan to take a break from work to enjoy a day on the course while networking with other members from across the state.

Our traditional scramble format opens the tournament for all golfing abilities.

Prizes are awarded to each member of the top three teams. Contest prizes are also awarded for longest putt, closest to the pin and longest drive.
