NCCER Virtual Certification - 04/2024 4/1/2024 - 4/30/2024

In these courses, you will learn the history of NCCER and how the curriculum was developed, become certified to train, evaluate, or proctor in the craft(s) that you have significant level of experience (i.e. journey-level of experience or greater, 4+ years), ensure that you are using the proper evaluation techniques for your training program and improve upon the ones currently in place, learn the skills needed to successfully manage a training program before, during and after the class, determine what makes a good communicator, a good leader and how to incorporate those qualities into your classroom. Note: Proctor certification does not require 4+ years of experience in the trade/craft for which you will proctor exams.

Depending on which certification you will be earning, these courses may consist of as many as two live-online six-hour sessions, one live-online three-hour session, and four self-guided modules. Construction Estimating Principles & Application is a four-hour program. The times for this class are 12pm-4pm CST, Tuesday April 2, 2024

Great Estimators know that to be competitive and competent in the current market, their companies must continually be in search of an edge. “How can we approach this project differently than our competition?” This virtual interactive training workshop is scheduled in two sections:

Track 1 - The Estimating Principles Behind Every Bid:

This open forum discussion led by a panel of experienced construction estimators explores advanced elements of construction estimating. Experienced estimators will be challenged to evaluate their own systems within the framework of current trends and models with an emphasis on Bluebeam. Every topic will be discussed from various perspectives to allow Estimators from across the spectrum to benefit.

Track 2 - How Technology Can Produce Faster, More Accurate Estimates:

Oftentimes simply being more visual in your bid scope can put you ahead of the competition by showing you truly understand the project. Each day we’ll spend some time demonstrating how technology can not only replace your highlighters, scales, and calculator, but fluid company standards for you and your team. With an emphasis on Bluebeam Revu, these digital tools and workflows will produce clear, visual markups that are accurate, predictable, and consistent no matter who on the team uses them.

Whether you’re opening Bluebeam Revu for the first time, or you’ve used it for years, this class will ensure a higher baseline knowledge. Attendees will learn interface navigation including menu dropdowns, toolbars, various tool panels, keyboard shortcuts and a few recommended settings. While learning various markup and measurement tools, several tips & tricks will be shared to increase speed and accuracy.

ABC members and guests are invited to attend the North Dakota ABC Fun Golf event at Suite Shots in Fargo ND from 12-4pm. This is our second annual in Fargo and will be just like our Minnesota event that was a huge success the last coulple years in the Twin Cities. We look forward to seeing you there. We'll talk golf and work at on our game before the courses open.We will have 8 bays for golf, food and drinks! Take a break from the office or jobsite and join us for a day of golf and networking. This two-part program is delivered in two three-hour segments over two days. The times for this class are 9am-12pm CST, Wednesday April 17 and Thursday April 18, 2024.

Reading Construction Documents 6 hours

This 2-part online program is for entry-level architectural or engineering designers, apprentices, entry-level tradespersons, project coordinators, assistant project managers, new project managers, estimators, specialty sales representatives, or anyone in career transition looking for a refresher.

Designed to quickly familiarize students with the basics of reading and understanding construction documents.
